Working with My Personal Statement gives you access to some of the leading academics in the land – people who have great insight into the university selection process because they’ve been successful applicants themselves (and, in some cases, work as admissions tutors and teachers too).
To help you decide if our personal statement service is right for you, we have put together some sample statements written by the MPS team. Whilst your application will be a unique and original piece of work, these personal statement examples are not only a great source of inspiration, but also an illustration of how we can help you achieve the same success.
(Please note that the list of subjects included here is not exhaustive – these personal statement examples are simply a selection of some of the most popular disciplines.)

Law is an extremely competitive subject. Year on year, entry numbers increase, and there are often over ten applicants for every place. Securing a spot at a top law school thus requires more than great grades: your personal statement will be intensely scrutinised for signs of intellectual maturity, professionalism and a critical mind.
We can assist with academic applications across all legal levels, including undergraduate (LLB), masters (LLM), and professional qualifications (GDL, LPC, BVC).
A degree in management equips students with the expertise needed to lead, change and understand industry on both a national and global scale.
But with some of the highest employment rates on graduation, competition is fierce to be accepted onto the very best courses, and universities are looking for candidates who can demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills.
Bridging the sciences and humanities, a geography degree provides both diverse course options and solid employment prospects.
Around five students apply for every place, and acceptance requires not only strong grades but also compelling evidence of an analytical mind, interest in the environment and the world, team work capabilities, and good numeracy, literacy and computing skills.
YOUR PERSONAL STATEMENT WILL BE A UNIQUE, ORIGINAL PIECE OF WORK
Getting into medical school is tough. Great grades and extensive work experience come as standard, as do over eleven applicants per place (with some sought-after schools increasing to around fifteen).
To give yourself the best possible chance of success – or at least a fighting chance of an interview – your application needs to have that ‘je ne sais quoi’ quality that will catch the eye of admissions tutors.
Being a dentist nowadays involves an awful lot more than fitting braces and scaling teeth. Dentistry is a major branch of medicine and, as a result, has an equally competitive entry process with around ten applicants for every place.
Dental schools are thus looking for students with the intelligence, maturity, professionalism and sensitivity to thrive in this field.
Modern nurses are the backbone of the NHS: they outnumber doctors four to one, and are the providers and coordinators of a complex system of care.
A skilled nurse can help anyone, whatever their situation, feel at ease. But nursing is a competitive field, and winning a place on a good course requires a scientific mind, compassionate nature, leadership ability, and a commitment to the care of patients. All such skills have to be demonstrated via a personal statement.

History is a highly competitive subject, with around five applicants per place. As such, candidates must be able to prove not only a keen interest in how the ideas and people of the past are still shaping and affecting our present and future, but also an adaptive and independent mind, strong analytical and problem solving skills, intellectual curiosity, and excellent communication.
With most courses making offers without interview, the importance of a perfect personal statement cannot be overstated.
A maths degree is versatile and very marketable, with high demand for graduates in business, commerce and industry, as well as the academic world.
A good mathematician is naturally inquisitive and, with around six applicants per place, admissions tutors will look for a candidate’s capacity to absorb and use new ideas, think imaginatively and independently, and demonstrate the enthusiasm and perseverance required from such a demanding course.
A cutting-edge finance degree is considered a transformational experience, accelerating careers and giving students an advantage in a competitive environment. But with thousands of applicants from around the world vying for the most sought after places, only those candidates able to demonstrate their ambition and analytical mindset will succeed with their application.
We can assist with academic applications across all levels, including undergraduate, masters, and executive qualifications (such as an MBA).
